1. Is CareerMakers a placement or "headhunter" company?
No. We do not place people in jobs. We are an educational andcounseling organization that teaches the skills of transition so wellthat our program graduates can change jobs "at will and without panic" whenever they want to or need to. We also assist them through their job search by providing solid networking contacts, resume and proposal preparation, interviewing brush-ups and support groups.
2. What does CareerMakers do to help people find jobs?
Our very practical job search methods have been tested by thousands of program graduates since 1983. These methods work and can cut your job search time by half! And, we are networking fools! Our program graduates comprise a wonderful network of people who can provide access to companies and industries. You receive a copy of our graduate database upon completion of the program. We also receive job announcements from graduates and other sources.
3. How long can I take advantage of the CareerMakers graduate database and other services?
For as long as you wish. CareerMakers becomes your safety net for all subsequent transitions. Some of our grads are "old timers." We have watched them grow up over the last 18 years!! They remain a part of our network because they like helping others and staying in touch. They also like having the CM staff to relate to when they need perspective on their career issues.
4. Is that the only program CareerMakers offers?
No. But it is the most comprehensive. Click here to see Services in a Nutshell.
5. What is the mission of CareerMakers?
The mission of CareerMakers is to give you the know-how, confidence and support that you need to find satisfying work. We help you answer the question: What would my life be like if I loved my work?
6. How can I learn more?
Please come to a Tuesday information session at 9:30am. No charge; they last a little over an hour. Learn about what we do, how we do it and the results you can expect by participating. Also, you may contact some of our graduates to get their "take" on their CareerMakers experience. Email Peter, or call him, he loves to talk! By all means, keep exploring our website!!
